Choosing an app
What’s a good free alternative to Clue?

A good free alternative to Clue keeps pregnancy tracking, a doctor summary and longer-range predictions free, without making you create an account. Seventh does that with no subscription and no ads, and it can import your Clue history. It’s for iPhone and iPad, coming to the App Store soon.
What Clue keeps for Clue Plus
Clue Plus is $9.99 a month or $39.99 a year on the US App Store. Clue’s help centre lists what it adds: predictions up to 12 months ahead, cramps predictions, full articles, extra charts, Conceive mode, Perimenopause mode, premium pregnancy features, wearable integrations and sharing your cycle with someone. The doctor’s report is in Clue Plus or a one-off purchase.
What to look for instead
- No account needed. Clue requires one; an app that works without an account keeps your logs on your phone.
- Free pregnancy mode and doctor summary.
- Predictions that admit uncertainty. A range of dates, widened for irregular cycles or PCOS.
- A way to bring your history. So you don’t start from zero.
How Seventh does it
Seventh is free without a subscription. Pregnancy mode, the doctor summary, insights and reminders cost nothing. Your next period is shown as a range, like “likely Nov 4–10”, and it tightens as you log. You can log flow, mood, energy, 15 symptoms, temperature, ovulation and pregnancy tests, and more. There’s no account to make, and no ads.
Bringing your Clue history
Download your data from Clue (Settings, then Download my data), then choose it in Seventh under Settings, Bring your history. Your past periods come with you, and Seventh also imports from Flo, Apple Health, or a CSV or JSON file. Step by step: how to move from Clue to Seventh.
What you’d give up
Seventh isn’t on Android or the web, is in English only, and doesn’t sync with wearables. It has no dedicated perimenopause or conceive mode. If you need those, Clue may suit you better.
How Seventh handles your data
Seventh never sells your data, shows no ads, and has no third-party trackers or advertising SDKs. It works without an account; if you sign in, your cycle is backed up to our servers so it can be restored. Seventh counts app usage itself, without any health values. Every detail is in Seventh’s privacy policy.
