Price: what’s free?
Seventh is free. Predictions, logging, reminders, insights, pregnancy mode, the library and the doctor summary cost nothing, and there are no ads.
Flo has a free version with period and ovulation predictions, more than 80 symptoms to log, reminders and an anonymous community. Flo Premium adds cycle patterns, expert videos, unlimited use of its AI health assistant, a Symptom Checker and a doctor’s report. Flo’s help pages say Premium features are “blocked by paywalls” in the free version. On 28 October 2026 its US App Store in-app purchases ranged from $1.99 to $59.99.

Do you need an account?
Seventh works without an account. What you log is stored on your phone. Signing in is optional and backs your cycle up so it can move to a new phone.
Flo’s help centre says you set up an account during onboarding, where all your data is stored. You can skip registering, but you then can’t log in from another device and risk losing your data. Flo also offers Anonymous Mode, which uses the app without linking your name, email or technical identifiers to your data.
Privacy
Seventh has no ads and no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code in the app. Your cycle and logs stay on your phone unless you sign in for a backup or choose to share. Seventh counts app usage itself, such as which screens are opened, without any health values. Every detail is in Seventh’s privacy policy.
Flo’s privacy policy says it never sells your data, and that your health data isn’t shared with its advertising partners. With your consent, it shares other data with AppsFlyer, Firebase and TikTok Ad Manager for marketing. Its App Store privacy label lists purchases, location, identifiers and usage data as “Data Used to Track You”. In 2021 the US Federal Trade Commission finalised an order against Flo after alleging it had shared users’ health data with Facebook and Google; the order requires Flo to get consent before sharing health data.
Predictions
Seventh shows your next period as a range, like “likely Nov 4–10”, because cycles move by a few days. It works from your own cycles and the range tightens as you log.
Flo’s help centre describes a countdown on its main screen, first to ovulation and then to your period, with predicted days marked in the calendar.
Irregular cycles and PCOS
In Seventh, you tell the app your cycles are irregular or that you have PCOS, and the window widens to match. It never diagnoses anything, and it suggests seeing a doctor if your cycles are very short, very long, or your period hasn’t come for 90 days.
Flo’s Premium Symptom Checker asks whether your symptoms may match PCOS or endometriosis and gives you a report for a clinician. Flo says it isn’t available in the UK or the European Union.
Taking your data with you
In Seventh, you can export everything as a file, or a one-page summary for your doctor, from settings whenever you like. Seventh can also import your history from Clue, Flo and Apple Health, or from a CSV or JSON file with a date for each period start.
To get a copy of your Flo data, you contact Flo through the app’s Help section and ask for it. Flo sends a TXT or JSON file. Ask for JSON, and Seventh can read it.
Where Flo is stronger
Flo is on Android and Apple Watch, works in 21 languages, logs more than 80 symptoms, and has a community and a large library from medical experts. It also has a version for people you choose to share with. If you need any of those, Flo is the better fit today.
Frequently asked questions
Is Seventh really free?
Yes. Everything you need to track your cycle is free, with no ads and no subscription.
Can I move from Flo to Seventh?
Yes. In Flo, go to your profile, then Help, then Contact us, and request a JSON export. Flo emails it, sometimes after a few days. Save the file to Files, then in Seventh choose Settings, then Bring your history, and pick the file. Your past periods come across. Step by step: how to move from Flo to Seventh.
Is Seventh on Android?
Not yet. Seventh is for iPhone and iPad on iOS 26 or later.
Can I use either app as contraception?
No. Seventh isn’t a medical device or a form of birth control, and Flo’s App Store listing says it isn’t a method of birth control either.
